The food of Jamaica, cooked the island way
Joan's Jamaican Cuisine is a new catering kitchen preparing to open in February 2027, bringing the food of Jamaica to tables across the Sarasota area.
The cooking is the island way: low, slow and seasoned to the bone. Pots of oxtail that simmer for hours. Jerk chicken with real pimento smoke. Curry goat the way it is made back home — warm with Scotch bonnet, garlic and thyme. It is celebration food: the kind of cooking that turns any gathering — a wedding, an office lunch, a family party, a church dinner — into an occasion.
The mark
The doctor bird — the national bird of Jamaica — is the mark of Joan's Jamaican Cuisine. Where you see it, the food is Joan's.
Where we will serve
When the doors open in February 2027, Joan's Jamaican Cuisine will serve the Sarasota, Florida area — including Sarasota, Bradenton, Palmetto, Parrish and Lakewood Ranch.
