Catering for gatherings of every kind
Joan's Jamaican Cuisine is a catering kitchen: the food is cooked the island way — low, slow and seasoned to the bone — and brought to your gathering ready to serve. A classic spread is laid out buffet-style, with the mains in chafing dishes and the sides alongside, so guests can help themselves and go back for seconds.
What a spread looks like
Every spread starts with the classics: oxtail braised until it falls off the bone, curry goat simmered in Jamaican curry, jerk chicken grilled smoky and charred at the edges, and gentle curry chicken for guests who like their heat mild. Around them: rice & peas cooked in coconut milk, sweet fried plantains, festival — golden fried dumplings made for tearing and sharing — steamed cabbage & greens, and baked Jamaican mac & cheese.

Planning a wedding or an event — or planning one for a client? Joan's Jamaican Cuisine caters weddings and events across the Sarasota area, and we're glad to work with you or your planner.
Planning ahead
As a general rule, caterers recommend planning an event menu two to four weeks ahead for larger gatherings, and earlier still during busy holiday seasons, so there is time to plan the menu and prepare everything fresh.
